An inexpensive board with an emphasis on performance qualities like durability and stability, the Calypso has the boxy rails and flat deck that make it good for novices. At the same time it has the foot straps and centerboard position required for decent performance in strong winds. The small, plastic cutaway fin is small enough to allow the board to turn in light winds, yet big enough to work in a good breeze. This isn't a high-performance board, but it's versatile and fun for the casual windsurfer or novice.
