Windsurfers Meetup at Heckscher State Park. These meetups are very informal and are meant to build community among local windsurfers. As such, there is no agenda (other than windsurfing).

This is the last day of the official windsurfing season at Heckscher! NOAA Coastal Waters Forecast for South Shore Bays from Jones Inlet through Shinnecock Bay calls for South winds 15 to 20 kt with gusts up to 25 kt. Waves 1 ft or less.

    Got a chance to try out my new 100L board. Had it rigged with a 4.5 and was overpowered, but it was getting dark, so no time to rig down.

    There were about 30 people on the water. All the Heckscher regulars were there.

    • “ Last day of the season at Heckscher and it was a great one! The morning started out at about 18 MHP (6.0-6.4) and ramped up to 25-30MPH (4.2-4.5) by the end of the day. Most got to use their 80 liter boards. ”
